TOUR ANNOUNCEMENTS:  Great Castles Tour June 15 2001 Departure
The June 2001 Great Castles Tour was a great success!! There were a total of 34 passengers, from the USA and England. There was a wide variety of ages represented. Since all the passengers had the same common interest - castles, age was not a problem and all the passengers got along great with each other. At meal times many of the topics of conversation had to do with the visit of the day and engaged in extensive discussions about the different royalties that lived in the castles or the historical events that took place there.

One of the highlights of the tour was the sound and light show at Blois Castle. Everybody left the show impressed and mesmerized by the complexity and variety of images displayed. The sound and light show used multimedia to explain the different historical events that took place at the castle. One of the most significant events was the visit by Joan of Arc in 1429 to plan the attack on the city of Orleans.  Wednesday night is the only night the show is given in English so the tour was planned carefully to be at Blois on Wednesday night.

A couple from Indiana, wrote the following letter:
Dear Jaime
We want to thank you and Lucy for putting together such a wonderful castle tour. We never dreamed we would actually experience being in so many magnificent edifices. We also were exhausted when we got home, but happy with all the things we were able to experience. Not only the castles but also the gardens. The accommodations were very pleasant and we enjoyed the diversity of meals. The breakfasts were outstanding! We appreciated being with such a friendly and kind group of people. We enjoyed them all. Especially, we are so happy that you were with us on this tour.  You were very helpful to us in many ways. Thank you for looking after us!
Love,
Marilyn and Henry

TRAVEL TIP:  Travel Light
When traveling always leave some empty space in your suitcase. The extra space in your suitcase will be very handy for all of your shopping and souvenirs. Many sites provide free guides, which you will probably want to take home with you.

FEATURE STORY: Great Castles Tour August 31st. departure.
The August 31st departure has some spaces available. They will be given out on a first come first serve basis. Once the tour reaches the 35 passenger limit we will not take any more reservations. We are very happy to have Janet from Dallas join us again.

Now ... why I am going with you again this year: Last year our castles tour was so grand. Your first tour was outstanding. I loved the hotels, the food and the diversity of castles as well as Rothenburg. There was time for shopping and relaxing. I got to see familiar things again and see new things. The other tour participants were so fun, nice and helpful. I am going with you again this year because I know you work hard to provide a quality tour and I am confident that again the hotel and meals will be superb, our guide and driver will be qualified in their areas and provide us with a safe and interesting tour, and that the castles and other sites we visit will be interesting and diversified. I can travel with you with the confidence that I am getting what I paid for and that my expectations will be met. I know that qualified people will be available to answer any question or concern I might have. Above all, I know that you are honest and ethical...and I want to visit those places that I find so fascinating. If I loved it the first time I want to experience it again.

Story written by Janet from Dallas. She went on the Great Castles Tour of September 2000, and will return on the August 31st. departure of the Great Castles Tour.
