Fantasy Castles Tour is a unique opportunity to visit those castles that have inspired great poets, famed storywriters, and even opera composers throughout their history. This tour will thrill the romantic child in you with castles such as Neuschwanstein castle. Built by “mad” King Ludwig II of Bavaria, the fantasy-like architecture of this masterpiece inspired Walt Disney to build the castles of his Magic Kingdom. This castle is kept in the style of a knight’s castle of the middle-ages, and it will not fail to evoke images of fairytales and knights of yore in the minds of those who marvel at its majestic and panoramic sights. In fact, King Ludwig’s castles were so glorious and majestic, that they foretold his demise as their great expense threatened the very economic stability of his kingdom.
This tour will also take you to other fantastic castles such as Herrenchiemsee which is modeled after Versailles and erected on an island in the middle of the Lake Chiemsee. Or the castle of Salzburg and the palace of Hellbrunn which to this day mesmerize patrons with their unique attractions such as its secret passageways, ingenious trick fountains, mechanical figurine theatres, and water-powered models. And you will also marvel at the castle of Konopiste which dates back to the 12th century and which received a neo-gothic facelift by none other than Archduke Franz Ferdinand, whose assassination sparked the beginning of World War I.
But that is not all. This tour will take you to many other fantasy castles and storybook towns that are sure to fire your imagination and take you back to the majestic days of Kings and Queens. So book now, and don’t miss the opportunity of a lifetime to relive the fantastic glory, history and grandeur of these timeless masterpieces and their enchanting surroundings.
